My Three Lords by Juniper Bell

Miss Alicia Silverwood was used to being around men. Her brothers had made sure of that fact but she never expected that her future would include not one but three. Married to one, playmate to another and reason to live for another.

A bet by the new groom, the Earl of Dorchester, might not have been the best thing to admit to a new bride. Especially when it entails betting she would be satisfied with just a strong cock against his friend the Marquis de Beaumont who is determined that he can use his skill as a rake to gain her favor. With the attention of both men Alicia should be content and happy to be loved as such with two giving males. Missing something she has no thought to look elsewhere until the mysterious green eyed stranger sets upon their door. The Duke of Warrington never lets anyone see his true self but she realizes that he is not a stranger but something much more. Someone who can give her the part that is missing from her life. The love of a man with not only his body but his heart and soul.

This erotic escape was full of naughtiness and fun! Miss Alicia is one lucky lady when she finds herself with not one man in her bed after saying I Do but three. Three men who are very different and give her very different things but combined give her everything she ever dreamed about.

Desperate Housewives of Avalon by Saranna DeWylde

Desperate Housewives of Avalon

When given the opportunity to read a Saranna DeWylde book I don’t have to be asked twice or give it a second thought. I pounce! And I have never been disappointed! OMG her humor and her wit shine through with every character and interaction in every book! I mean, who combines immortal Gods and Goddesses with legendary ancient rulers and whips it into an entertaining and hilarious spoof of one of today’s most popular “reality” series? Ms. DeWylde does and she does it to perfection! If you happen to read this book when you are in a public area be forewarned! You WILL laugh out loud! You WILL be unable to stop reading! And you WILL want more when you are done!
Artemis is tired of being the immortal virgin…. She wants her V card punched and thanks to Aphrodite and her prodding a trip to Avalon to try and snare Mordred, bastard son of King Arthur and Morgan, and like his father one of the resident “attractions” for a hot and quick hook up. Aphrodite hopefully had chosen the right man for her but when another magic gets involved things could seriously go awry.
Guinevere du Lac might have wished she had made another choice than to spend eternity with Lance but she had made her bed and had to live with her choices. Even though he hadn’t shared that bed in over a century but when he walked out the door voicing his own similar concerns it still hurt. Could she even find a way to make things right with the one man who had given her everything, including a crown? Despite still loving Arthur she needed to let him find a way to love another and forget the pain she put him through.
Morgan might have agreed to her friend Aphrodite’s plan to hook her son up with the virgin goddess of the hunt but she couldn’t put her self in the same place. Or could she? Lance had always been the one she pined for. If he walked into her place and wanted her just as a booty call could she walk away from the most handsome man she had ever seen and the same one who she had always wanted after he was through with her? Rebound sex was amazing but not when her heart was involved.
Aphrodite needed to get away from Ares. She had always thought he was the one for her but his reluctance to give her his heart, or declaration of his love, had finally sunk in and given her pause. Tagging along with Artemis was just the thing she needed. The goddess of love needed to make sure things went smoothly with her friend and if she found out something more about her own heart on the way even better. Aeron was supposed to be a back up for her friend but there was just something about those Gods of War that got under her skin.
Vivienne du Lac, Lady of the Lake, needed to remedy a mistake she had made centuries ago. Morgan was supposed to end up with Lance, her son, not Gwen. Her own accursed love life aside she needed to help them along. Taunted by Mordred in the guise of his father Arthur, she uses her power to curse him might just get her into trouble with the Goddess of Love who had just arrived. When she is faced with losing her powers it might take more than a declaration from a man she had trusted by her side for centuries for her to accept his offer.
A full cast of immortals combine to make this a fantastic romp! The tug of war for Aphrodite’s heart between Ares and Aeron, the declaration of love from a man no longer the young boy Vivienne had always saw him as and the tangled web of love and devotion that the King and his Queen had let their hearts weave into a mess even the Goddess of Love could not untwine. The connection between Morgan and Lance was immediate and exciting as they indulge without thought of the future. Finally the virgin huntress Artemis finds the one man who she thinks can punch her ticket but the bad boy of Avalon can never be a part of her future…unless the curse that the Lady of the Lake put on him has more truth to it than they ever thought. A truth that would bind them together for an eternity.
Wrapped up together these stories are a very entertaining and humorous read. I loved it and whipped through this story in one sitting! Saranna DeWylde is one of the best comedic romance writers today and her ability to weave a tale makes her a favorite.

Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks

King Alexander II sent a decree to Lairds Armstrong and Montgomery that neither clan could ignore. There would be a wedding and his most valued supporters would have to put their hatred towards each other aside as they would join their families as soon as possible putting all their animosity in the past. Graeme Montgomery could not believe that his line would now end with him after the King had ordered him to take the daft woman to be his bride. What could come of a union with a woman who was sheltered because of her infirmary?

Eveline Armstrong had lost her hearing after a fall escaping a wedding to a man who was adept at hiding his true self to even her own family. A man with two faces. The loving, caring ‘husband to be’ and nobleman to everyone else; and the torturing, vile, lecherous man to his bride. Losing the use of her voice was altogether another problem. What started out as her taking time to recuperate ended up as the only way out of a marriage from hell. At the Montgomery keep Eveline soon has an ally in her sister in law, Rorie. Her secret now in danger of being revealed she needs to find a way to tell her husband that she is not daft but scared of Ian McHugh and the life she needed to escape.

Eveline finds her way into the hearts of the new clan but not before she slaves herself causing irreparable rifts between the Laird and the women of the castle. Realizing their mistake too late when she is betrayed and kidnapped and it will take a true truce and merging of the two enemies to defeat the kidnapper and save Eveline from the fate awaiting her.

Maya Banks never disappoints. Picking up a thrilling contemporary, an erotic historical or a sexy highland escape that has Ms. Bank’s name on the cover always delivers a story that will wrap you up in emotion, titillate your senses and have you scouring for more as soon as they book is back on the nightstand. Needless to say book hangovers are pretty much a given when I pick up her books and this one did not disappoint. Graeme and Eveline’s story was all of what I said above and more. Eveline was a strong and brave heroine who had to find a way to survive, giving up a connection that she once shared with her family and with the horses she loved to protect herself from the threat that hung over her life. Graeme is a gruff and battle scarred warrior but he opens his heart to the woman he is forced to wed and soon finds himself captivated by the beauty that his silent but determined wife by his side. I hate to be cliché but I cannot wait for more highland tales from Ms. Banks and am positive that it will prove to be another delicious escape.

Sharing Hailey by Samantha Ann King

4 Hockeystyxxx

Hailey Anderson had been in love with her brothers’ best friends forever but she could neither choose between the two or let one or both of them go from her life. Even though she had dreamed of being more than a “kid sister” to them for years she could not stop herself from wanting both men. Mark Allen and Tony Adamo had waited for Hailey while she stumbled in and out of relationships and inevitably came to them each time they fell apart. Waiting forever it seemed for her to step up and make a choice between the two, they had both loved her for far too long to wait any longer. This last breakup only pushed them further especially when the man threatened her. They had had enough and they were going to make her see that she needed to make a decision because two men who loved her were through waiting. They couldn’t chose and if she didn’t well then they would just share.

The problem is they had neither Tony nor Mark had any idea it was going to truly be a threesome relationship. Shocking both of them as much as they had ever been with the level of intimacy between themselves when they found pleasure in her bed. Daniel, her ex, isn’t finished though and his attacks are escalating but with bringing the cops in on it there are some questions that need to be answered. When they are forced to extremes to protect themselves they must find a way to deal with the aftermath, face the truth of their relationship and re-evaluate the connection that they share.

This book brought the heat. I was totally wrapped up in this story and screaming for more! I loved their intimacy, feeling the emotion as they explored their feelings for each other and struggled to make sense out of their hearts craving for a more permanent connection between the three that they had never entertained before. I wanted more of the Mark and Tony explorations but my one disappointment was that I was left hanging in that department with only a taste to whet my appetite instead of a grand buffet of M/M/F intimacies. If you want to explore this genre a little further and are just testing the waters it is a delicious choice for biting into a ménage for the first time and one that kept an open to anything reader like me captivated as well.

Seven Years to Sin by Sylvia Day

5/5 Hockey Styxx

On the day of her wedding Lady Jessica Sheffield watches as the decedent and indecent Alistair plays with his latest paramour in the gazebo; all the while keeping contact with her eyes, with her soul. Running into her betrotheds arms, Jessica all but throws herself to him, begging to be taken even before the vows are read. With her beloved Benedict gone a year now it is time for Jessica to take care of business, planning to head back to the island and the plantation her husband had left to her. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she would meet up with Alistair again or the power he held over her after 7 long years. The power to make her weep with need and desire like he had done so briefly without a touch under the waning moon so long ago.

Alistair Caulfield had never gotten over the one woman who had captivated his heart so long ago despite their very brief yet intimate interlude and the connection made despite never touching each other. Now a successful merchant he had stayed away as much to be out of his father’s reach as to stay away from Lady Jessica. When her brother in law asked his favor in keeping the widow safe on her journey he could neither say no nor submerge his desire to finally capture the woman of his dreams. No other had captured his heart and no other could come closer than the Lady Jessica herself.

Taking a return trip back to the islands was not what he intended but it would give him the chance to see Jessica as she is now and attempt to win her over especially when he not only had purchased a berth on the ship she intended to sail on but owned that ship and others thanks to his determination to prove himself. Jessica had never forgotten the passion that Alistair had stirred within her but the younger man had always been much too arrogant in his preening for her to admit her notice even with her betrothal to a man who had captured her heart. Tarley had once held her heart and admittedly a comfortable passion but it was nothing like the erotic intensity that Alistair ignited within her and a temptation that she could not deny.

Whew. This erotic historical delight was beyond what I was expecting when I opened the first pages. I was absolutely enthralled in their arousing and exciting adventure that led them to opening up themselves to both passion and love like they had never found before. A little danger, a lot of spice and a fantastically delicious helping of sexy sensual interludes combine to deliver one of the best historical reads I have read this year. I loved their interactions, their emotional bond and their intimate explorations as they give in to a connection that they had let simmer for 7 years before consummating it this exceptional read.

A Jaguar’s Kiss by Katie Reus

4/5 Hockey Styxx

Gabriela Segura needed some time away from her job after dealing with the loss of her team so accepting her mother’s invitation to return home for a visit was the perfect escape. If only she could escape running into Owen Wright, her once best friend who had cut her to the bone and severed their growing bond before they could fully explore what they might have had. Getting accosted and kidnapped by his brother was not what she expected when she stepped out of the restaurant though, and apparently neither did Owen when he found her bound in his office leaving her jaguar no other choice but to run from the wolf.

Alpha Owen Wright knew who was waiting in his office before his brother opened his mouth to tell him what stupid thing he had done in hopes of flushing out the jaguar who had been attacking humans from the community. Gabriela was the one woman he let get away. The one he had always wanted and the one he had no clue as to why she ran from him. He had to catch her and let her know the reason why his idiot brother took her off the streets at gunpoint before she found herself in danger from the killer hiding amongst them.

Gabriela and Owen have a history that needs some details filled in but the one thing they both know, even if they only admit it to themselves, is that there is a connection between them that the miles and years apart from each other did nothing to diminish. With the stunning revelation that they had more than the severed connection between them to keep them in each other’s lives they both realize that they need to face their past if they hope to have a chance of working together to find out who was truly behind the attacks.

Sexy, fast paced, exciting and dangerous! This novella captivated me just as quickly as Ethan snagged Gabriela off the street and drew me into their plight and the emotional connection of Owen and the woman he let get away so long ago. The immediate flair of desire is evident as they briefly glimpse each other before Gabriela runs and Owen, for several reasons, follows hooking me into their story even more. I am totally diving into more Katie Reus books as soon as possible!

The Best Man’s Baby A Red River Series Book by Victoria James

Florist Claire Holbrook has always played by the rules her entire life, but breaks them to spend one night with sexy lone wolf Jake Manning, a man she’s adored since she was a teenager. Six weeks later, things get complicated when she discovers they created a bond that will last a lifetime

Jake has never played by the rules. Getting Minister Holbrook’s daughter pregnant wasn’t part of any life plan, but he won’t run from his responsibilities. He’ll step up and be the best man he can, even if he doesn’t have a clue where to begin. The more time he spends with Claire, though, the more he wants her, and the harder it is to get close, because that would mean sharing the one thing he hasn’t with anyone–the truth and his heart.

The Best Man’s Baby by Victoria James

Claire Holbrook had been the middle of the sexy Manning brothers’ sandwich all through her best friends’ wedding to the third tasty Manning specimen but there was only one that she wanted to have a taste of. Jake Manning had always been the one she crushed on since she was a teen and to see him there in a tux was enough to send her reeling into fantasy land. Not that he had ever noticed her. Not that she would know what to do if he did.
Jake had wanted the sexy curvy Claire for a long time but he knew he would never be good enough for the Reverend Holbrook’s daughter so he could look but not touch. His bad boy reputation may or may not have been earned but the truth about himself was enough of a reminder that he had to keep hands off.
This was another emotional read. Claire’s unexpected pregnancy was revealed in one of the most hilarious methods I have ever read but the upheaval of their lives once the cat was out of the bag was pure romance! I loved how they both opened up their insecurities and scars from the past and let themselves heal thanks to the love that bloomed and grew between them. The blossoming of their love was fodder for a great read as they worked backwards from pregnancy to a wedding proposal to falling in love. Quite an exceptional read that brightened a gloomy stormy summer day.

Talking Dirty With the Player by Jackie Ashenden

Up-and-coming photographer Judith Ashton is pretty sure she has everything in her life under control. That is, until a blast from the past comes back to taunt her, in the shape of Caleb Steele, her older brother’s best friend–the same man who broke her heart eight years ago. Their chemistry is combustible, but she’s been fooled once by this player, and she’s not going there again.

To pro rugby player Caleb, Judith has always been Kryptonite, but his former playboy lifestyle is the last thing she wants to be involved in, and he can’t blame her. In the midst of her brother’s threats to back off, and the deal of his career sending him far away from her, he knows he’s playing with fire. And this is one game he’s going to lose.

Talking Dirty With the Player by Jackie Ashenden

4.5 Hockeystyxxx

Judith Ashton loved her new sister inlaw but her idea of a fun wedding and anyone else’s was not the same. Who chose to set their wedding up as a live video game with guests playing laser tag? And how was she going to get through the night with the one man she had given her heart to standing up beside her. Getting closer to the sexy as hell Caleb was not her plan. They had once been friends and then more than friends before he broke her teenage heart. She couldn’t let her desires come in to play again no matter how much she wanted just one more chance to win his heart.
Caleb Steele had no qualms shooting Jude in the back. Well in the game anyway. Truthfully hurting her before had been the one regret he still carried with him to this day. But being close to her again and now back in New Zealand, after playing rugby in England, he missed teasing his sweet babycakes. No, she could have been his, but he knew hurting her that morning after they had been together was the best thing to do for them both. Getting her to shoot the charity calendar was not an easy task but somehow even with their history she said yes but on her terms. Terms that both of them had a hard time accepting.
Rugby players! Yummmmmm. There are not enough books with sexy hunky rugby players so when given a chance to review this one I was prepared to tackle whoever I needed to in order to get my hands on it. For fans of romance who are not ‘sportys’ no worries. There is not a lot of technical sports jargon within. (For me I wish that there had been more!) Jude has been hurt by this man before. Although she doesn’t come out and say it I think that he is the only man she let get close enough to her to cause pain or to even touch her. Caleb has his reasons for the pushme-pullyou connection with Jude but it is when he pushes her aside and her subsequent pleas for clarity that this story totally broke me down to a blubbering idiot. I admit I do not always pick up a contemporary read as my first choice but I was more than pleased with this book. Well done!

Hunter’s job as a personal trainer didn’t pay all the bills but along with his job as a bouncer at Rotten he was getting to where he wanted to be. The only place else he needed to go involved the sexy Pilates instructor Olivia. Damn but he wanted to ride her like she rode those bikes in the spin class she taught. Seeing her put on a show at the bar was beyond hot and he hoped to hell she wasn’t really into the girl that was now tight up against her. Where he needed to be.

Olivia had wanted Hunter from the first moment she saw him at the gym. Too shy to take a chance she had almost growled at his client today when she had put her claws on his toned chest in front of her. Tonight she was going to step it up though and with the help of her best friend and some dirty dancing at the club he worked at she was hopefully going to put the shyness behind her and let him know what she wanted from him.

Oh. My. Gawd. Damn it if Cassandra Carr didn’t raise the temperature even higher during this heat wave with the spontaneous combustion between Olivia and Hunter when they finally came together for the first time in a passionate, scorching exhibition. With this book being little more than a morsel it delivered a bite that was full of sinfully delicious erotic temptation. The chemistry between the two continues throughout their foray into sexting and culminates with a scene that will leave you breathless and wanting. Pick this one up and be delighted with the heat that it delivers!

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review and I honestly loved every bite of it! Releasing on July 19 from Ellora’s Cave Exotica Quickies line.
